Lean Bean Coffee in City West was undergoing a full renovation and uplift, and GES was brought in to handle the electrical element of the project. The scope covered the installation of new sockets throughout the cafe and the fitting of new light fixtures to complement the refreshed interior design.
The Challenge
Renovation work in an existing cafe requires careful coordination with the other trades carrying out the uplift — joiners, painters, and the interior fit out team all needed access to the same spaces in sequence. The new socket positions had to be planned around the updated cafe layout, which included a redesigned counter area, new seating arrangements, and a refreshed display zone.
Our Solution
We worked closely with the main contractor to sequence the electrical work around the other trades. New socket positions were marked out and agreed with the cafe owner before any installation began, ensuring the final layout supported the new counter equipment, POS system, display fridges, and customer-facing charging points. Light fixtures were selected by the owner and installed by GES, with circuits designed to provide the warm, inviting atmosphere that a coffee shop setting demands.
The Result
The cafe reopened with a refreshed electrical installation that supports the new layout and equipment. The lighting creates a welcoming environment for customers, and the new socket positions provide convenient power for both staff operations and customer use.
